Need For Aluminum Wheel Restoration

Cracked wheels are the most common damage seen on aluminum wheels. Replacing the wheels is an expensive cost. Wheel restoration is an alternative. Not only the cracks are repaired the wheels are restored to full utility and because of the metal the wheel can be given a pristine look as well.

Cracks usually develop from impacts on road debris and pot holes. Road hazards like deep craters can cause the brittle aluminum to crack. Some cracks can also be seen when a bent wheel is being straightened using a sledge hammer. The cracks is usually on the inside lip. The cracks can extend into the barrel. Where a spoke is a structural part of the wheel and cracks are noticed at the meeting junction of spoke and barrel then that type of crack is difficult to repair.

Vehicle Inspections Systems based in Orlando in Florida has perfected the art of Aluminum wheel restoration with the use of VIS-Shine and VIS-Polish systems. The VIS-Polish system restores aluminum truck and bus wheel rims to a finish that is pristine in looks and functionality. The restoration process is evidence based as the system sands the whole wheel face or smaller sections as desired. The bead cleaning cycle is an added feature that is standard on the systems. Wheel restoration process is a proved, tried and tested methodology in fleet maintenance of wheel programs. The safety aspect cannot be emphasized in a more telling fashion as pristine wheels contribute to safer transportation.
